Nicholaus Kenneth Abkes fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on March 22, 2012.

Nick was born on November 27, 1980 to the proud parents of Theo and Cindi Abkes. He grew up in Mead, Co and attended Mead Elementary, Mead Middle School and graduated from Skyline High School in 1999. He began to work for Frederick Public Works during his High School years at the age of 15 and advanced to Assistant Public Works Director and served the Town for 16 years.

Nick married Jenny ( Hazard ) on March 25, 2004 and together they had two beautiful children, Hailie 7 and Alaina 6. They made their home in Frederick, Co.

Nick had a strong passion for life and had a deep love for his family. He was a member of Life Bridge Christian Church and a member of the American Legion post 1985. He enjoyed cooking, camping, working in his yard and spending endless time with his family. He was a huge Bronco fan.

Nick will be remembered for his contagious smile, his great sense of humor and the song that he put in each of our hearts.

Nick is survived by his wife, Jenny, and children, Hailie and Alaina. Parents; Theo and Cindi Abkes. Sisters; Alyssa ( Lance) Latoski and Marissa Abkes. Mother-in-law, Judy Hazard. Sister-in-law, Julie ( Jonathon ) Zadel. Neice’s, Cadance, Larissa and Nephew’s Layne and Logan. And lest we forget his little Yorkie companions, P.J., Champ and Moe.

Visitation will be held on March 27, 2012 from 4:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Howe Mortuary Longmont, Co.

A celebration for Nick’ s life will be held on March 28, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Life Bridge Christian Church Longmont, Co. Burial will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory. Victory Garden
